I must say that this symphony is one of my favourites... It'll completely melt your heart!
I just wanted to share this poem written by Joseph M. Scriven... "What a Friend We Have In Jesus"
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Saviour, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer,
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be
So I came to Wheaton four months ago... and it's already December...
My first semester in college is about to come to an end...
Looking back, it feels like yesterday that I came to Wheaton. Looking back, this semester has been very challenging, frustrating, but yet, encouraging. I've made a lot of friends and I'm beginning to consider Wheaton as my home away from home.
Most of my classes this semester have been very fun and interesting, especially those of the Conservatory.
I feel like I've learnt a lot of things from the classes that I took, and I'm looking forward to taking new classes next semester.
The final exams are quickly approaching. I'm a little bit anxious about these exams and my final grades, but they're something that I cannot avoid. Hopefully I can survive this hectic week as I will be going home in a week.
Having a friend whom you can fully trust is very helpful. In times of trouble you can just freely talk to him or her about your trouble and share anything that you need to share. I must say that you are truly blessed if you have a friend or two like that, who are always willing to be with you to help you out. This week has been a really hard week for me because of the finals and jury. But simply seeing my friends after I come back to the dorm has been really helpful. Although I could not share or talk much with them, realising that there is someone that I can talk to and be with strengthened me. And I thought about living my college life by myself, without a single friend. How unfortunate would that be? I truly thank God for this awesome community that I live in and all the amazing friends that I have...
"The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control." (Galatians 5:22-23)
Isaiah will be performing this piece on Thursday, 8 December 2011 at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music open recital.
